Acid Reflux May Raise Risk of Cancer of
Larynx
(NY, Reuters Health, 9/29/06)
Dr. Michael Vaezi of Vanderbilt University Medical Center
in Nashville, and team, matched 96 adults with laryngeal
cancer to a group without the disease. The scientists found
that subjects with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) had
double the risk of developing cancer of the larynx (voice box)
as those without the condition.
