Diets Get Green Light

The American Dietetic Association (ADA) and Dietitians of
Canada now officially recognize that a well-planned vegetarian
diet is a healthy alternative for people of all ages. These
organizations say that the most healthful vegetarian diet is
one that contains a wide variety of nutrient-dense foods. ADA
spokeswoman, Cynthia Sass, points out that vegetarians tend to
have healthier body weights and lower rates of death from
heart disease, as well as less hypertension, diabetes and
colon cancer, than meat-eaters. |
