Eating Breakfast May Stave Off Obesity, Diabetes
 (NY, Reuters Health, 3/6/03)

Dr. Mark A. Pereira of Children's Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston, and team, kept track of the lifestyle habits and health status of 2,681 young adults for 8 years. The researchers found that subjects who regularly ate breakfast 3 or more times per week were less likely to be obese or insulin resistant compared to those who did not. Furthermore, this risk reduction was associated with a morning meal of whole grains, but not refined grains.
