Dr. John F. Keaney Jr of Boston University School of Medicine, and team, have found that obese people tend to have high levels of cell-damaging free radicals, which are brought about through oxidative stress. This finding may help explain why overweight people have a greater risk of developing chronic medical conditions, like heart disease and diabetes
