Antioxidant Levels of Common Teas Vary Widely

When Susanne M. Henning of U.C.L.A. and colleagues tested for catechin, an antioxidant in black and green teas, they found wide variations by brand. In fact 2 iced tea mixes they tested had none at all. Joe Simrany, president of the Tea Council of the USA said that the industry is working on creating standards for labeling teas' antioxidant content.
